Edo Police Parade Suspects Who Killed Young Lawyer ...Vows To Fish Out More, Display 32 Cultists

The Edo state police command has paraded five suspects who killed a Benin base young lawyer, Barrister Iyoha Osobase Omo, and buried him in an uncompleted building.

Unveiling the suspects with other criminals who involved in various crimes, such as; murders, kidnapping, snatching of cars, armed robbers and other crimes commissioner of police, Johnson Kukumu, said the command has recorded much achievements within a week he came to Edo state.

He said the police will encourage community policing in accordance with the IG policy in order to combat crimes in the society, that Edo state is not left behind.

Narrating how they were arrested  Johnson Kukumu said:

” Five (5) suspects namely; Osasu Osadolor Afro ‘m’, Emmanuel David ‘m’, Valentine Dibie ‘m’, Uwadia Taiwo Uhumwagho ‘m’ and Saturday Imagbe ‘m’ alleged to have kidnapped and murdered Barrister IyohaOsobaseOmon ‘m’ in a cruel and bizzare manner and buried him in a bush close to the house of OsasuOsadolor were arrested by the Command.”

” On 07/06/2020, the Police in conjunction with Vigilantes in Evharue Community, arrested seven (7) kidnappers namely; Salisu Yusuf ‘m’, Umaru Hammed ‘m’, Salisu Umar ‘m’,  Sanni Amiru ‘m’,  Maruf Hammed Umar ‘m’, Ibrahim Abubakar ‘m’ and Anthony Ogbevon ‘m’ who kidnapped five (5) persons viz: Osaruyi Osawaru ‘m’, Sunday Iyoha ‘m’, Eghosa Osadolor ‘m’, Osayemwenre Peter ‘m’ and a septuagenarian Madam Mary Christiana ‘f’.”

” The victims were on their way from Orhehue village to Benin in Edo State commercial coloured Vannet Bus with Reg. No. KWC-580-XA when they were kidnapped. Three (3) improvised guns wrapped with black cellotape, one (1) Mitsubishi L300 Bus with Reg. No. XH-495-BEN and the sum one hundred thousand (#100,000:00k) stolen from the victims were recovered from them, while the injured, Anthony Ogbewon is being treated at Police Clinic for injuries sustained.

” On 02/06/2020, two (2) suspected armed robbers namely; Ibe Emmanuel ‘m’ and Williams Osagie ‘m’ were arrested at Isuwa Hill, along Lagos-Benin Expressway while on transit from lbadan to Awka with one AK-47 rifle with breech No. 1516, two magazines stuffed with 30 rounds of 7.62mm calibre live ammunition, one locally made revolver pistol with three (3) live ammunition and a Toyota Sienna Wagon with Reg. No. MUS-607-FQ.”

On the arrest of suspected armed robbers and kidnappers, the Edo CP said:” On /05/06/2020 at about 0015hrs, the Police acting on a distress call, that hoodlums were robbing at Okabere Community, swung into action, and arrested three (3) suspects, one Osas Osadolor ‘m’, Aisosa  Obawonyi ‘m’ and Lucky Uyi ‘m’.

” On 03/06/2020, at about 1430hrs, three (3) robbery suspects namely; Onoriode Sunday ‘m’, SuruMayaki ‘m’ and Obukokwho James ‘m’ were arrested at Zenith Bank Plc, Airport Road Branch, Benin City, for allegedly breaking into vehicles of customers parked within the bank’s premises and removing valuable items therein. One white Lexus S/Car with Reg. No. KWL-770 AX were recovered from them.”

” On 06/06/2020, raids of criminal hideouts in Ologbo area. In the process, thirty-two (32) cultists; twenty-two (22) males and nine (9) females were arrested.”

Confessing to their sins during an interviews, some of the suspects said they involved in the acts.

For Suru  Mayaki, a 43 years old from Ondo state married with three children said they robbed in supermarket and they were catches through CCTV. Also, Onoriode  Suday confessed he involved in the criminal act.

Items recovered from the suspects are; guns,  pistol, cutlass and other arms and ammunition used by the hoodlums to carried out their nefarious activities.
