Press Release: Communique On Resolution Taken On Some Disturbing Issues In Obuama Community, Harry’s Town in Degema Local Government Area On The 18th Of May, 2020 At The Community Town Hall, Obuama

After exhaustively discussed issues affecting the community, the Chiefs and the entire members of the community resolved as follows:

  1. That any person or group of persons parading themselves as cult group(s) in the Obuama Community will no longer be tolerated and if caught, will be handed over to the relevant security agencies.
  2. That any individual or group of persons from Obuama Community that will go and sign as guarantor(s)to secure the bail of these arrested cult boys will be tagged and published as sponsors of cultism and will be paraded as enemies of Obuama Community.
  3. That anybody arrested as a cultist and prosecuted should not be allowed to come and reside in the community for five (5) years at the expiration of whatever punishment given to them by the government.
  4. That all non-indigenes parading themselves as cultists in the community will be identified to the police and will no longer be admitted into the community henceforth.

Finally, the Verdict given by the chiefs and the entire Community Stakeholders on the 16th of May 2020 at the residence of the Chairman Obuama Council of Chiefs against MR. IGEE EZEKIEL HARRY for leading group of boys to loot the community palliatives sent to the Community by the Rivers State Government: MR. IGEE EZIKIEL HARRY should go round the Obuama Community with a town crier to render public apology to the chiefs and people of Obuama Community within 24 hours of this notice or remain disassociated and should no longer partake in anything concerning the community.

Also, the Obuama Land Allocation Committee remains suspended until further notice.
