Hausa Community Tasked On Peaceful Coexistence

The Hausa community in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State has been called upon to continue to live in peace with their neigbhours in the course of doing business for continued peace in Ika and the nation at large.

The acting director of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mr. Chris Anyabiene made this call when he visited Hausa community in Agbor to enlighten them on the need for peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians.

The NOA DG who spoke to the Hausa people in a message he titled, “Building a People of Peace”, explained that all Nigerians should live in peace, settle their differences through amiable resolution while avoiding the use of violence. He further said they should avoid religious intolerance.

He further advised them to say no to cultism as a way of settling dispute because it does not promote peace but anger, hatred and continuous killings all of which do not aid the development of any nation.

The NOA DG also drew attention to the issue of high cases of rape in the country while encouraging them to do their best to make same the cankerworm is stamped out of the nation,

Responding to the message, the chairman of Arewa community, Ika chapter, Al Jubri  Usuman said that Hausa community in Agbor and Ika in general, have been living in harmony for decades starting from the days of their forefathers  who, came to settle in Ika land  since about 1916. He explained that many of them were born and breed in Agbor and have been living and doing their business in a peaceful environment.

He thanked the Government of Delta State and the office of the king of Agbor Kingdom for their support and the peaceful environment they have given them to do their business and live in peace.

Usman revealed that Agbor cum Ika was one of the most peaceful places in Nigeria and prayed for its continued reign/ pointing out that the issue of cultism was not rampant in their quarters, he said they would continue to keep it at bay.

The Hausa Community also thanked the governor of Delta State for his great fight against COVID-19 in the state as well as his love and care for Arewa people in the state as he promised they would continue to do their best to help foster peaceful coexistence in the country.
