The project unveiled Monday July 26 at Swift Air Hotel, Port Harcourt by Assistant Governor Adaure, is a mitigation response to the depleting eco-system in the Niger Delta.
President Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Eco Emem Okon said the partnering Rotary Clubs’ target is to contribute to tackling the absorption of worrying high carbon in the atmosphere and also help restore livelihood to communities in Rivers State.
“Planting of mangrove trees begins in earnest”, she declared.
Participants however raised concerns over the sustainability of the trees, which they hope to address through intensive community sensitization.
